Regarding climate, Alto Paraíso is considered one of the highest and coldest cities in the state of Goiás - along with Cristalina, which is 1,189 meters above sea level.
The municipality has a tropical climate with a dry season, being dry and mild in winter and humid and hotter in summer. The explanation for these extremes in maximum and minimum temperatures is related to the presence of dry air, which reduces relative humidity values, especially between 12 pm and 6 pm. Without clouds in the sky, at dusk, the radiation emitted by the sun during the day escapes very quickly, causing the temperature to drop by up to 6 °C per hour and improving humidity, rising to 60% or 90%. Over the last few years, however, minimum and maximum temperatures have fluctuated more and the thermal sensation has been of greater heat. It is also important to differentiate regions where there is only vegetation, typically cooler, from regions with urban agglomerations, which are warmer.
